The perimeter of the rectangle below is 112 units.

Given :

AD = 3x + 3

DC = 4x - 3

So, the perimeter is:

2\cdot\lbrack(3x+3)+(4x-3)\rbrack=112

solve for x:

First, divide the sides by 2

So,

\begin{gathered} (3x+3)+(4x-3)=(112)/(2) \\ \\ 3x+3+4x-3=56 \\ 7x=56 \\ \\ x=(56)/(7)=8 \end{gathered}

so, the length of the side AD is:

AD=3x+3=3\cdot8+3=24+3=27

So, the length of the side AD = 27 unit
