The form of the direct variation equation is

y=kx

Where k is the constant of variation

To find k Substitute x by -19 and y by -95

\begin{gathered} -95=k(-19) \\ -95=-19k \end{gathered}

Divide both sides by -19 to find K

\begin{gathered} (-95)/(-19)=(-19k)/(-19) \\ 5=k \end{gathered}

Substitute the value of k in the form of the equation, then

y=5x

The equation of the direct variation is y = 5x
