Notice that:


\lim _(x\rightarrow+\infty)\log (x)=+\infty

Therefore:


\lim _(x\rightarrow+\infty)(-\log (x)+4)=-\lim _(x\rightarrow+\infty)\log (x)+4=-\infty+4=-\infty
