In this case we must have the equation

2x+3y=5

If we solve for y, we obtain

\begin{gathered} 3y=5-2x \\ \text{and finally,} \\ y=(5-2x)/(3) \end{gathered}

which can be rewritten as

y=(5)/(3)-(2)/(3)x
