From the statement of the question, we know that Zachary spent $2.60 more than Melinda spent, then to find how much money did Zachary spend, we just have to add $2.6 to the money spent by Melinda, we can express this by means of the equation:

Money spent by Zachary = money spent by Melinda + $2.6

We are told that Melina spent $14.75, then if we substitute this we get:

Money spent by Zachary = $14.75 + $2.6

Money spent by Zachary = $17,35

And the money that Heather spent is 3 times more than Zachary, then by multiplying the money spent by Zachary by 3, we can get the money spent by Heather, like this:

Money spent by Heather = 3 * Money spent by Zachary

Money spent by Heather = 3 * $17.35

Money spent by Heather = $52.05

Then, Heather spent $52.05
