Given the graph of a line

As shown, the line passes through the points (0, -2) and (1, 2)

the slope of the line will be as follows:

slope=(rise)/(run)=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)=(2-(-2))/(1-0)=(2+2)/(1)=4

the meaning of this slope:

The rate of change of the line = 4

That means y increases (4) units when (x) increases 1 unit
