a. 7

b.40

c. 156

1) Given the following functions:

f(x)=-3x+7,g(x)=x^2-1

2) We can find the given values below, by plugging into them values for x or operating those functions:

a) f(0)

a)f(0)=-3(0)+7=0+7=7

Note that we have only evaluated this function.

b) 5g(3)

\begin{gathered} b)g(x)=x^2-1 \\ g(3)=3^2-1=8 \\ 5\cdot g(3)=5\cdot(8)=40 \end{gathered}

Note that after plugging into that x=3 we have plugged for g(3) the found value and then multiplied by 5.

c) f(-2)+g(12)

For this one we need to plug into each of them, different values for x, and then add them up:

\begin{gathered} f(x)=-3x+7,f(-2)=-3(-2)+7=6+7=13 \\ g(12)=(12)^2-1=144-1=143 \\ c)f(-2)+g(12)=13+143=156 \end{gathered}

3) Hence, the answers are:

a. 7

b.40

c. 156
