Using Two point formula in getting the equation of the line.

y-y_1=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)(x-x_1)

x1 = -6

y1 = -3

x2 = 2

y2 = -5

Substitute to the formula :

\begin{gathered} y-(-3)=(-5-(-3))/(2-(-6))\lbrack x-(-6)\rbrack \\ y+3=(-2)/(8)(x+6) \\ y+3=-(1)/(4)(x+6) \\ y+3=-(1)/(4)x-(3)/(2) \\ y=-(1)/(4)x-(3)/(2)-3 \\ y=-(1)/(4)x-(9)/(2) \end{gathered}

The answer is :

y = -1/4 x - 9/2
