How is this equation true?4/4 * x/1 + 1/4 = 4x/4 + 1/4 = 4x+1/4

(4)/(4)*(x)/(1)+(1)/(4)

Simplify as shown below,


\begin{gathered} (4)/(4)*(x)/(1)+(1)/(4)=(4*x)/(4*1)+(1)/(4) \\ =(4x)/(4)+(1)/(4) \\ =(4)/(4)*x+(1)/(4) \\ =1*x+(1)/(4) \\ =x+(1)/(4) \end{gathered}

If the initial equation is correct, the last equality in the question tab is incorrect. The simplification is x+1/4, not 4x+1/4.
