First we have to solve the substraction on the right side of the equation:

3-2x=-5

Now we add 2x on both sides:

\begin{gathered} 3-2x+2x=-5+2x \\ 3=-5+2x \end{gathered}

Now add 5 on both sides:

\begin{gathered} 3+5=-5+5+2x \\ 8=2x \end{gathered}

And divide both sides by 2:

\begin{gathered} (8)/(2)=(2x)/(2) \\ 4=x \end{gathered}

The value of x that makes the equation true is 4
