1) Examining the picture, we can assume this is a Right Triangle, and then use the Pythagorean Theorem

a²=b² +c²

14² = 12² +c² The hypotenuse is the larger side a

196=144 +c²

196-144 = c²

52 =c²

√52 =√c²

c= √52

2) Rounding off to the nearest tenth we can write

c= √52 is approximately 7.2
