a)

Volume of a cylinder is given by the formula:

V=\pi r^2h

Where

V is the volume

r is the radius

h is the height

Given,

h = 11.4

r = 3

We can find the volume:

\begin{gathered} V=\pi r^2h \\ V=\pi(3)^2(11.4) \\ V=322.164 \end{gathered}

b)

Surface area of a cylinder is:

SA=2\pi rh+2\pi r^2

We substitute what we know and get our answer:

\begin{gathered} SA=2\pi rh+2\pi r^2 \\ SA=2\pi(3)(11.4)+2\pi(3)^2 \\ SA=68.4\pi+18\pi \\ SA=271.296 \end{gathered}
