The lid of a water bottle is a circle with a radius of o.5 inch find a the circumference of the lid and b the area of the lid use 3.14

a.

The circunference of a circle is given as:


C=2\pi r

plugging the values we have:


C=2(3.14)(0.5)=3.14

therefore the circumference of the lid is 3.14 in.

b.

The area of a circle is given as:


A=\pi r^2

then:


A=3.14(0.5)^2=0.785

therefore the area of the lid is 0.785 squared inches.
