Answer : 2 cups

2/3 cups of sugar can produce 1 batch of cookies

x cups of sugars can produce 3 batch of cookies

Firstly, establish a proportion between two statement

\begin{gathered} (2)/(3)\text{ cups -------- 1 cookies} \\ x\text{ cups --------- 3 cookies} \\ \text{Introduce cross multiplication} \\ 1\cdot\text{ x = }(2)/(3)\text{ x 3} \\ x\text{ = }\frac{2\text{ x 3}}{3} \\ x\text{ = }(6)/(3) \\ x\text{ = 2 cups} \end{gathered}

Hence, 2 cups of sugar will produce 3 batches of cookies

Option B
