How do find the vertex of a quadratic function using standard form

1 Answer

the standard form is:

(y-k)^{}=4p(x-h)^2

the vertex is (h,k)

if the quadratic function is not in the standard form we get

f(x)=ax^2+bx+c

the vertex is:

(-(b)/(2a),f(-(b)/(2a)))

and the symmetry axis is

x=-(b)/(2a)
