The surface area of the cone is given by:


SA=\pi r^2+\pi Lr

where r is the radius and L is slant height.

In this case r=5 and L=12. Then the surface area is:


\begin{gathered} SA=(3.14)(5)^2+(3.14)(12)(5) \\ =267 \end{gathered}

Therefore the surface area is 267 squared centimeters,
