Tan θ = 7 / 5 = 54.5 (b / a) drawing triangle as stated

φ = 90 - 54.5 = 35.5 since we have a right triangle

note:

CB = a (opposite angle a)

AC = b (opposite angle b)

Check:

AB = hypotenuse

AC^2 + CB^2 = 49 + 25 = 74

AB = 8.60

Cos θ = 5 / 8.6 = .581 θ = 54.5 deg
