Hello!

If Cora had some $5 bills in a jar on January 1st and each month she added 50 $5 bills to the jar and after one year she had a total of $4,500. She had 300 $5 bills on January 1st.

Explanation:

There are 12 months in a year and she added 50 $5 bills each month.

50 ×
5=250 ×
12=3,000

After a year she had a total of $4,500 including the money she had in the jar at the beginning of the year.

4,500-3,000
= 1,500

To find the total amount of $5 she had at the beginning of the year you divide.

1,500 ÷
5= 300

Hope this helped!
