Let TM denote the total marks for the test.

Then the 31.25% of total marks is given by the expression,

\begin{gathered} =(31.25)/(100)\cdot TM \\ =0.3125TM \end{gathered}

Given that the value of this 31.25% of total marks is 125,

\begin{gathered} 0.3125TM=125 \\ TM=(125)/(0.3125) \\ TM=400 \end{gathered}

Thus, the total mark for the test is 400.
