Here, we want to get the percentage increase or decrease

At any point in time, we have the percentage change as;

\frac{new\text{ value -old value}}{\text{old value}}*\text{ 100 \%}

The key to know if there is an increase or a decrease is that if the old value is bigger than the new value, there is a decrease, but otherwise, there is an increase in percentage

a) 12 to 13.26

(13.26-12)/(12)*\text{ 100 \% = 10.5 \%}

The correct answer here is 10.5% increase, so we use the yellow

b) 40 to 26

(26-40)/(40)*100\text{ \% = -35\%}

This is a 35% decrease, so we select the blue

c) 60 to 84

(84-60)/(60)*100\text{ \% = 40 \%}

This is 40% increase, and we use the pink

d) 12.5 to 18.75

(18.75-12.5)/(12.5)*100\text{ \% = 50 \%}

That is a 50% increase and we select the white

e) 50 to 37

(37-50)/(50)*\text{ 100 \% = -26 \%}

That is 26% decrease, and we select the blue
