Let's simplify the expression, first we cancel the parenthesis:

187x+-(8x), ten:

since a plus sign multiplied by a minus sign gives us a minus sign we have:

187x-8x

now, we just substract 8 to 187, since both numbers are multiplied by the same variable (x)

then:

(187-8)x=179x

and that's it

187x+(-8x)=179x
