Given -

3x + 5y = 14

6x -4y = 9

To Find -

x and y =?

Step-by-Step Explanation -

3x + 5y = 14 .....(1)

6x -4y = 9 ......(2)

Multiply equation (1) with ×2

We get

6x + 10y = 28 ......(3)

Now,

(3) - (2)

6x + 10y - 6x + 4y = 28 - 9

14y = 19

y = 19/14

So, on putting the value of y in eq(1)

We get

3x + 5(19/14) = 14

14(3x) + 95 = 196

42x = 101

x = 101/42
