Given the expression:

3\left(x+4\right)

To simplify the expression you have to distribute the multiplication on the parentheses term, that is, multiply each term inside the parentheses by 3:

\begin{gathered} 3\left(x+4\right) \\ 3*x+3*4 \\ 3x+12 \end{gathered}

The simplified expression is 3x+12
