If an object is shot upward with initial velocity in feet per second the velocity in feet per seconds is given by the formula V equals Leo March 32 where T is time in seconds find the initial velocity of an object with a velocity after three seconds is 24 feet

v=v_0-32t

we can replace the velocity (24ft/s) and the time(3s)


(24)=v_0-32(3)

simplify


24=v_0-96

and solve for v0


\begin{gathered} 24+96=v_0 \\ \\ v_0=120 \end{gathered}

then the initial velocity is 120 feet per second
