The figure below is a Trapezium.

Let's write out the formula for the area of a trapezium,


\text{Area of a trapezium=}(1)/(2)(a+b)h

1) Let us write out the data given in the first figure,


\begin{gathered} a=7\operatorname{cm} \\ b=10\operatorname{cm} \\ h=4\operatorname{cm} \end{gathered}

Let us solve for the area of the figure,


\begin{gathered} \text{Area of the trapezium=}\frac{\text{1}}{2}(7+10)*4 \\ =(1)/(2)(17)*4 \\ =34cm^2 \end{gathered}

The area of the trapezium is 34cm².
