The side splitter theorem states that if a line is parallel to one side of a triangle and intersects the other two sides, it divides both sides proportionally.

This above theorem holds in the question, hence we solve as follow

\begin{gathered} (11)/(x)=(5)/(10) \\ \text{cross multiply} \\ 5x=110 \\ Divide\text{ both sides by 5} \\ x=(110)/(5) \\ x=22 \\ \end{gathered}
