\begin{gathered} (3)/(4)+a \\ \\ 2b \end{gathered}

1) Considering that "the product of a quarter of 3 more than a number a" can be written as:

\begin{gathered} (1)/(4)*3+a \\ \\ (3)/(4)+a \end{gathered}

2) And for the second statement: "2 times a number b" can be written as:

2b

We can write them both as:

\begin{gathered} (3)/(4)+a \\ 2b \end{gathered}
