To solve these expressions you have to apply the order of operations known as PEMDAS which stands for Parentheses, Exponent Multiplication/Division, Addition/Subtraction.→ first solve the terms on parentheses, then the exponents, then the multiplications/divisions and finally the aditions or subtractions.

1.

16-20/4

The Division must be solve first:

\begin{gathered} 16-20/4 \\ 16-5 \end{gathered}

Next solve the subtraction

16-5=11

2.

12+4\cdot5

First operation to solve is the multiplication:

\begin{gathered} 12+4\cdot5 \\ 12+20 \end{gathered}

Next solve the addition

12+20=32

3.

32/8\cdot4

First solve the division

32/8=4

Then solve the multiplication

4\cdot4=16
