The statement is false. It is correct that enzymes can speed up biochemical reactions, that is why they are also known as biological catalysts. But the way they do their function is that they can decrease the energy needed for a reaction to occur. Moreover, they can help with the interaction with two molecules that have to interact and favour it in ther active site.
