To find the equation of the line with the points (-3,-1) and (-4,-7)

First find the slope

m = (y2 -y1) / (x2-x1)

Replace

m= (-7-(-1) / (-4-(-3)

m= -6/-1

m = 6

Use the next formula y-y1 = m(x-x1)

y-(-1) = 6 (x-(-3)

y+1 = 6x +18

y = 6x +18 -1

y = 6x + 17, this is the answer is the slope-intercep form
