The area of the trapezium is calculated as follows:


A=(b_1+b_2)/(2)\cdot h

Where b1 and b2 are the lengths of the bases (the parallel sides) and h is the height (perpendicular to the bases).

The figure gives us: b1 = 16 yd, b2 = 20 yd, h = 10 yd. Substituting:
