Solution

To find the equation of a line passing through the points (0,-4)(5,-4)

The equation would be;

(y-y_1)/(x-x_1)=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

Given

\begin{gathered} (x_1,y_1)=(0,-4) \\ \\ (x_2,y_2)=(5,-4) \end{gathered}
\begin{gathered} \Rightarrow(y-(-4))/(x-0)=(-4-(-4))/(x-(5))=0 \\ \\ \Rightarrow(y+4)/(x)=0 \\ \\ \Rightarrow y+4=0 \\ \\ \Rightarrow y=-4 \end{gathered}
