Answer:

The number is:

10.1

Explanation:

2(a+(-2.8)) = a + 4.5

2(a-2.8) = a + 4.5

2*a + 2*-2.8 = a + 4.5

2a - 5.6 = a + 4.5

2a - a = 4.5 + 5.6

a = 10.1

Check:

2(10.1 - 2.8) = 10.1 + 4.5

2(7.3) = 14.6

Given data:

it is given that twice the sum of a number and -2.8 is the same as 4.5 more than the number.

Let the required number be 'x', then we have

\begin{gathered} 2(x-2.8)=x+4.5 \\ 2x-5.6=x+4.5 \\ 2x-x=4.5+5.6 \\ x=10.1 \end{gathered}

So, the required number is x=10.1
