a.)

\begin{cases}y_1=1+3x \\ y_2=3+2x\end{cases}

b.)

1+3x=3+2x\rightarrow3x-2x=3-1\rightarrow x=2

so for a ride of 2 miles the cost will be the same for both companies

c.)for a ride of 10 miles we get that the cost for each company is

\begin{gathered} y_1=1+3\cdot10=31 \\ y_2=3+2\cdot10=23 \end{gathered}
