They can make 16 pillow cases out of the given number of yards

Here, we want to know thw number of pillows of a particular size that could be made from a given size of materials

Mathematically, that would be obtained by dividing the amount of fabric given by the individual sizes of the fabric of each pillow case

Thus, we have;

\begin{gathered} 12(1)/(2)\text{ divided by }(3)/(4) \\ \\ =\text{ }(25)/(2)\text{ divided by }(3)/(4) \\ \\ =\text{ }(25)/(2)\text{ }*\text{ }(4)/(3)\text{ = }(50)/(3)\text{ = 16 }(2)/(3) \end{gathered}

But since we cannot make a fractional pillow case as each pillow case needs to be completely whole, then the number of pillow cases that could be made is 16
