x-3=4x+7

To solve for x:

Separate the variables and constants as follows,


\begin{gathered} x-4x=3+7 \\ -3x=10 \\ x=(10)/(-3) \\ x=-(10)/(3) \end{gathered}

Thus, the answer is


\begin{gathered} x=-(10)/(3) \\ (or) \\ x=-3.33 \end{gathered}
