The domain of a function is the set of numbers over which the function is defined, and the range of the function is the set of values that the function can take when being evaluated at the elements of the domain.

On a graph, the domain can be identified as the values over the X-axis where the graph is drawn, and the range can be identifies as the values over the Y-axis where the graph is drawn.

On the graph, notice that all values from 0 to 6, including 0 but not 6, belong to the domain.

Similarly, on the graph, al vallues from 6.3 to 9.5, not including 6.3 but including 9.5, belong to the range.

Then, the domain of the function is the interval:

\lbrack0,6)

The range of the function is the interval:

(6.3,9.5\rbrack
