Climate Change LetterFor this Assignment, you will write a letter to your congressman, urging him or her to take action and defend your opinion.Use the information in this unit as a starting point. Also, search the Internet to find how the solar energy absorbed by the Earth is changing as a result of climate change. As you go explore sources, you should see how controversial the topic is. Some scientists claim that these changes in climate and global-atmospheric temperatures occur naturally over time. They state that heightened levels of carbon concentration in the Earth's atmosphere naturally fluctuate throughout history. Other scientists claim that increases in carbon levels are higher than in the past and that human action is the reason for this. What is your opinion? Where do you stand? State your stance and back up your argument with three sources of information. Make sure to provide the web addresses (site links) for the sources that you use to support your argument. Here are some links to resources to get you started:Sun Cycles and Climate ChangeSun's Impact on Climate Change Overestimated?Climate Change: What's Going On With the Sun?No denying climate change

If I were to write a letter to a congressman about climate change, I would focus on pushing for renewable energy.

Explain that in today's society we are going to need energy. However, as we continue to rely on fossil fuels, we are polluting the atmosphere with more and more carbon which has gradually lead to higher global temperatures. To help decrease the amount of carbon emissions, we should focus on funding and turning to renewable energy.

In order for our nation to change from fossil fuels to more renewable resources (such as solar, hydroelectric, wind, and nuclear energy), congressmen need to write, vote for, and pass bills mandating it. Urge the congreeman in your letter to be vocal about making these changes and encourage their fellow congressmen and women to make these changes as well.
