Cone

A sugar cone that is 2 inches in diameter and 5 inches tall

The volume is given by:

V=(1)/(3)\pi r^2h

Substitute h = 5 in and r = d/2 = 2/2 = 1 in

V=(1)/(3)\pi(1)^2(5)=(1)/(3)\pi(1)(5)=(5)/(3)(3.14)=5.23\text{ in}^3

Answer: volume is 5.23 in^3

Sphere

Soccer balls with a radius of 14cm

The volume of the sphere is:

V=(4)/(3)\pi r^3

Where r = 14 cm

Substitute

V=(4)/(3)(3.14)(14)=58.61\text{ cm}^3

Answer: Volume is 58.61 cm^3

Cylinder

A scented candle is in the shape of a cylinder, with a radius of 4cm and a height of 12cm.

And the volume is:

V=\pi r^2h

Substitute the values h = 12 cm and r = 4 cm

V=(3.14)(4)^2(12)=602.88\text{ cm}^3

Answer: de volume is 602.88 cm^3
