we have the equation

\begin{gathered} 8*9^x=35.68 \\ solve\text{ for x} \\ 9^x=(35.68)/(8) \end{gathered}

Apply log on both sides

\begin{gathered} log(9^x)=log((35.68)/(8)) \\ \\ xlog(9^)=log((35.68)/(8)) \\ \\ x=(log((35.68)/(8)))/(log(9^)) \\ x=0.68 \end{gathered}

The answer is option B
