Let us explain the meaning of rational number

A rational number is any number you can put it as a fraction

Ex: 2, 3.5, 15/4, ..........

It can not be an approximated number like 1.23435...... which means can not be exact number

Let us look to the choices to see which number can not be a rational number

2 + 2 = 4 it is rational number

5 + 2.7 = 7.7 it is rational number

(2)/(3)+(1)/(3)=1

it is also a rational number

what about 10 + 0.998987.....?

Since 0.998987..... is not an exact number it is an approximated number

So 10 + 0.998987.... is not a rational number

The counterexample is the third choice
