we have the equation

(x)/(3)+5=8

Solve for x

That means ----> isolate the variable x

step 1

Subtract 5 on both sides

\begin{gathered} (x)/(3)+5-5=8-5 \\ \\ (x)/(3)=3 \end{gathered}

step 3

Multiply by 3 on both sides

\begin{gathered} (x)/(3)*3=3*3 \\ x=9 \end{gathered}

The answer is x=9
