We have the following:

y=mx+b

where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept

now, for b, the line passes through the point (-4, 6)

therefore, x = -4 and y = 6

replacing:

\begin{gathered} 6=-(5)/(4)\cdot-4+b \\ 6=5+b \\ b=1 \end{gathered}

Therefore, the equation is:

y=-(5)/(4)x+1

check:

\begin{gathered} y=-(5)/(4)+-4+1 \\ y=5+1 \\ y=6 \end{gathered}
