find the zero(s) of the following function

f(v)=v^2+9v+20​

Remember that the zeros of the function are the values of v when the function f(v) is equal to zero

so

v^2+9v+20​=0

Applying the quadratic formula

a=1

b=9

c=20

substitute


v=\frac{-9\pm\sqrt[]{9^2-4(1)(20)}}{2(1)}
\begin{gathered} v=\frac{-9\pm\sqrt[]{1}}{2} \\ \\ v=(-9\pm1)/(2) \\ \\ v_1=-4 \\ v_2=-5 \end{gathered}

the zeros are

v=-4 and v=-5
