Part = whole x percentage
Make Percentage the subject of the formula
Percentage = part / whole
Example: if you want to find the the percentage of 16 boys in a class of 20 students
Since, Percentage = part / whole x 100%
Part = 16
whole = 20. This is because the total number of the students is 20
Percentage = 16 / 20 x100%
Percentage = 0.8 x 100%
Percentage = 80%
