The Solution:

Given:

Let the height of Tower B = x feet.

Tower A = (x +600) feet.

Required:

Find the height of each of the two towers if the total height of the two towers is 1,576 feet.

x+(x+600)=1576
\begin{gathered} 2x+600=1576 \\ 2x=1576-600 \\ 2x=976 \end{gathered}

Divide both sides by 2.

x=(976)/(2)=488\text{ feet}

The height of Tower A is:

\begin{gathered} x+600=488+600=1088\text{ feet} \\ \end{gathered}

The height of tower B is 488 feet

Answer:

Tower A's height = 1088 feet

Tower B's height = 488 feet
