your menu involved many calculations with decimals. Reflect on how you made these calculations: 1. How did you compute sums of dollar amounts that were not whole numbers? For example, how did you compute the sum of $5.89 and $1.45? Use this example to explain your strategy. Show your work here. I 2. How did you compute products of dollar amounts that were not whole numbers? For example, how did you compute the cost of 4 pounds of beef at $5.89 per pound? Use this example to eynlain vaurstraten a 9 NA

1. 5.84 +1.45 = $ 7.29

My strategy to do this kind of operations is always leaving the point in the same place

5.84

+ 1.45

______

the points always need to be in the same column then you sum starting in the right side so first 4+5=9 then 8+4=12 you only put the value of 2 and the one we left we sum with

5+1+1= 7

so the result of the sum os 7.29

2. In this example we do as we normally do the products but always to need in count how many numbers are after the point

5.89*4 =23.36

I did the product and the result, if the number were integers, will be 2336 how many numbers are after the point, there are 2 so the result with a point will be 23.36
