We must find the sum of the polynomials:

\begin{gathered} p(x)=5x^3-4x, \\ q(x)=8x+8. \end{gathered}

The sum of the polynomials give:

p(x)+q(x)=(5x^3-4x)+(8x+8)=5x^3+4x+8.

Answer

5x^3+4x+8
