Put the value of x from equation (a) into the equation second

So,

From the second equation

`\begin{gathered} 24x-4y=-15 \\ 24((5-8y)/(2))-4y=-15 \\ 60-96y-4y=-15 \\ 60-100y=-15 \\ -100y=-75 \\ y=(75)/(100) \\ y=(3)/(4) \end{gathered}`

Now,

Put the value of y into the equation (a)

So,

From the equation (a)

`\begin{gathered} x=(5-8y)/(2) \\ x=(5-8((3)/(4)))/(2) \\ x=(5-6)/(2) \\ x=-(1)/(2) \end{gathered}`
