The given fraction expression :

(3)/(8)+(1)/(8)

Since, from the property of fraction,

If the denominator of the set of fractions which are adding are equal then the numerator are sum up:

(a)/(b)+(d)/(b)+(x)/(b)=(a+d+x)/(b)

Since in the given expression the denominator ie equal to 8

thus, numerator will add

\begin{gathered} (3)/(8)+(1)/(8)=(3+1)/(8) \\ (3)/(8)+(1)/(8)=(4)/(8) \\ \text{ Since, 4 divided 8 by 2} \\ (4)/(8)=(1)/(2) \\ (3)/(8)+(1)/(8)=(1)/(2) \end{gathered}

Answer : 1/2
